Update: Earthquake measuring 5.3 shakes area near Barkhan, Pakistan on June 27

MUSAKHEL, Balochistan — A 5.3 magnitude quake hit close to Barkhan on Saturday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor struck at 03:06 UTC (08:06 local time), with its epicenter approximately 69 km north-northeast of Barkhan and a depth of 10 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.4 event, but later downgraded it to 5.3.
