Update: Earthquake of 5.2 magnitude recorded near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia on July 30

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.2 magnitude quake occurred near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Wednesday afternoon.

At 05:17 UTC (16:17 local time), the region was jolted by a tremor. The earthquake shook at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter approximately 126 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.3 event, but later downgraded it to 5.2.
