A 5.0 magnitude quake was recorded near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Thursday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which struck the area at 08:34 UTC (19:34 local time), was centered roughly 146 km southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
