TAPACHULA, Chis. — A 5.1 magnitude quake shook close to Puerto Madero on Friday around midday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor struck the area at 17:03 UTC (11:03 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter approximately 78 km west-southwest of Puerto Madero.

Tremors past week

Last week, eight tremors with a magnitude 2.5 or higher have been registered in the region, two of them larger than magnitude 5.5. The biggest, a 7.3 magnitude quake, slammed the same region prior to this quake.
