July 11: Earthquake measuring 2.4 shakes region close to Ferndale, CA

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA — Friday night, a preliminary 2.4 magnitude quake was recorded near Ferndale, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor struck the area at 11:16 p.m. The epicenter was positioned about 6 miles north-northwest of Ferndale, at a depth of 13 miles.
