Update: Fire weather watch affecting Colorado Friday – enhanced fire threat

On Wednesday at 10:02 p.m. an updated fire weather watch was released by the National Weather Service valid for Friday between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. for Colorado.

Expect winds to be northwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 45 mph and relative humidity 6 to 11%.

“Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning,” explains the NWS.

The full list of affected locations includes:

• Little Snake

• White River

• Lower Colorado River

• Colorado River Headwaters

• Paradox Valley

• Northern San Juan

• North Fork

• Southwest Colorado Upper West Forecast Area
