Update: Fire weather watch issued for Routt County for Friday – increased fire danger

The National Weather Service issued an updated fire weather watch at 10:02 p.m. on Wednesday valid for Friday between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. for Routt County.

Winds are forecasted to be west 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph and relative humidity 10 to 15%.

“Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning,” explains the NWS.

According to the NWS, a fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
