Earthquake strikes area near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia: 7.0 magnitude registered on July 20

A 7.0 magnitude quake was reported close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Sunday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor slammed at 06:28 UTC (17:28 local time), with its epicenter situated roughly 142 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and a depth of 46 km.
