A 7.0 magnitude quake was registered close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Sunday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The tremor, which rocked the area at 06:28 UTC (17:28 local time), was centered roughly 142 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It occurred at a depth of 46 km.
