A 5.0 magnitude quake was recorded near Tobelo Monday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor rattled the region at 08:30 UTC (17:30 local time). The epicenter was situated roughly 151 km west-northwest of Tobelo, at a depth of 37 km.
