Earthquake of magnitude 5.3 recorded near Miyako, Japan on April 20

A 5.3 magnitude quake occurred close to Miyako on Monday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which jolted the area at 08:01 UTC (18:01 local time), was centered about 139 km east of Miyako. It occurred at a depth of 35 km.
