Update: Earthquake slams region close to Sarabetsu, Japan on April 26 – 6.1 magnitude detected

A 6.1 magnitude quake slammed close to Sarabetsu on Sunday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor struck the area at 20:23 UTC (05:23 local time). It occurred at a depth of 81 km with the epicenter about 24 km west-northwest of Sarabetsu.
