ERONGARÍCUARO, Mich. — A 5.3 magnitude quake occurred near off the coast of Michoacan on Monday around midday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which jolted the area at 20:38 UTC (13:38 local time), was centered of off the coast of Michoacan. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
