Update: Earthquake hits region close to Asubulak, Kazakhstan on July 23 – 5.2 magnitude recorded

ZHARMA DISTRICT, Abai Region — Wednesday afternoon, a 5.2 magnitude quake was detected near Asubulak, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor shook the area at 10:37 UTC (15:37 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter located roughly 52 km west-southwest of Asubulak.
