QALANSIYAH WA ABD AL KURI, Socotra — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.3 magnitude quake shook near Qalansīyah Wednesday afternoon.

The tremor, which struck the area at 10:02 UTC (14:02 local time), was centered roughly 210 km north of Qalansīyah. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
