Earthquake of magnitude 5.2 detected close to Sand Point, AK on July 17

ALEUTIANS EAST BOROUGH, AK—Thursday afternoon, a 5.2 magnitude quake was registered near Sand Point, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor shook the region at 2:09 a.m. (3:09 p.m. local time). The epicenter was located roughly 62 miles south-southeast of Sand Point, at a depth of 15 miles.
