Update: Earthquake measuring 5.1 jolts area near Hirara, Japan on Feb. 28

A 5.1 magnitude quake was recorded near Hirara Saturday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which struck the region at 01:49 UTC (09:49 local time), was centered approximately 57 km north-northwest of Hirara. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
