Update: Earthquake of 5.0 magnitude registered close to Mid-Indian Ridge on March 9

A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Mid-Indian Ridge on Monday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor jolted at 10:41 UTC (14:41 local time), with its epicenter of Mid-Indian Ridge and a depth of 10 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.1 event, but later downgraded it to 5.0.
