Update: Seismic activity on Feb. 16 – 5.0 magnitude earthquake close to East Pacific Rise registered

Monday evening, a 5.0 magnitude quake was reported near East Pacific Rise, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which struck the area at 03:58 UTC (20:58 local time), was centered south of East Pacific Rise. It occurred at a depth of 10 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.1 event, but later downgraded it to 5.0.
