Update: Earthquake shakes region near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia on Aug. 10 – 5.0 magnitude registered

Sunday evening, a 5.0 magnitude quake was recorded close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor hit the area at 09:29 UTC (20:29 local time). It occurred at a depth of 35 km with the epicenter located about 152 km southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
