A 5.0 magnitude quake was recorded close to Vilyuchinsk Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which rattled the area at 13:05 UTC (01:05 local time), was centered about 89 km south of Vilyuchinsk. It occurred at a depth of 85 km.
