According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to central Mid-Atlantic Ridge Wednesday afternoon.

The tremor, which rattled the region at 17:27 UTC (15:27 local time), was centered of central Mid-Atlantic Ridge. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
