Update: 5.0 magnitude earthquake shakes near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia on Jan. 14

Wednesday morning, a 5.0 magnitude quake was registered close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 17:29 UTC (04:29 local time), the region was struck by a tremor. The earthquake rattled at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter approximately 180 km east-northeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
