Earthquake of magnitude 5.0 recorded near Kimbe, Papua New Guinea on Aug. 28

A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Kimbe on Friday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor shook at 20:19 UTC (06:19 local time), with its epicenter approximately 191 km east-southeast of Kimbe and a depth of 10 km.
