Update: Earthquake shakes region near Grindavík, Iceland on Dec. 9 – 5.0 magnitude detected

Tuesday morning, a 5.0 magnitude quake was reported close to Grindavík, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor rattled the area at 10:12 UTC (08:12 local time). The epicenter was located approximately 284 km southwest of Grindavík, at a depth of 10 km.
