Earthquake measuring 5.5 strikes area close to Adak, AK on Aug. 28

ALEUTIANS WEST CENSUS AREA, AK — the U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.5 magnitude quake hit close to Adak Thursday morning.

It was reported that a tremor jolted the region at 11:07 a.m. (2:07 a.m. local time). The epicenter was located about 146 miles west of Adak, at a depth of 75 miles.
