Monday evening, a 5.2 magnitude quake was detected near Zhaotong, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which shook the area at 11:32 UTC (19:32 local time), was centered about 39 km southwest of Zhaotong. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
