Earthquake measuring 5.1 hits area close to Ozernovskiy, Russia on July 30

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.1 magnitude quake struck close to Ozernovskiy on Wednesday around midday.

At 02:01 UTC (13:01 local time), the region was shaken by a tremor. The earthquake jolted at a depth of 35 km, with its epicenter about 144 km east-southeast of Ozernovskiy.

Last week, there was one quake of magnitude 5.5 centered in the area, which was detected near Vilyuchinsk prior to this quake.
