Update: Earthquake of 5.0 magnitude registered close to Africa on May 25

MBARALI, Mbeya Region — A 5.0 magnitude quake struck close to Africa at midday on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 09:25 UTC (11:25 local time). The epicenter was south of Africa, at a depth of 10 km.
