Update: May 30 – 5.0 magnitude earthquake reported close to Wau, Papua New Guinea

A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Wau on Saturday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor struck at 22:45 UTC (08:45 local time), with its epicenter roughly 87 km east of Wau and a depth of 73 km.
