Earthquake jolts area near Lae, Papua New Guinea: 5.0 magnitude recorded on May 30

A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Lae on Saturday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor struck at 22:45 UTC (08:45 local time), with its epicenter roughly 81 km southeast of Lae and a depth of 69 km.
