According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.0 magnitude quake rattled close to Port-Vila Wednesday morning.

It was reported that a tremor hit the region at 22:30 UTC (09:30 local time). The epicenter was located approximately 84 km south-southeast of Port-Vila, at a depth of 95 km.
