An updated report was issued from the National Weather Service on Friday at 1:19 p.m. for elevated fire danger until 7 p.m. for.
“The combination of southerly winds gusting 20-30 mph, minimum relative humidity values of 25-35%, and dry fine fuels will lead to an elevated risk of fire spread today. The risk will be highest across the Capital Region, the Lake George and Saratoga region, as well as the mid Hudson Valley, Taconics and eastern Catskills. Any fires that develop in these areas could spread rapidly. Residents are encouraged to exercise caution if handling any potential ignition sources, such as machinery, cigarettes, or matches. As a reminder, the annual statewide burn ban is in effect until May 14. No burn permits are issued,” according to the NWS.
