Weather alert for elevated fire danger in until Friday evening

The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 10:50 a.m. on Friday for elevated fire danger until 7 p.m. for.

“Relative humidity will drop as low as 25 to 30 percent this afternoon, along with south wind gusts of 25 to 30 mph. These dry and breezy conditions will pose an elevated risk for wildfire spread this afternoon in parts of Central New York. The annual statewide burn ban is in effect until May 14. No burn permits are issued,” states the NWS.
