Update: 5.2 magnitude earthquake strikes near Severo-Kuril’sk, Russia on Aug. 3

At midnight on Sunday, a 5.2 magnitude quake was reported close to Severo-Kuril’sk, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted at 13:25 UTC (00:25 local time), with its epicenter situated roughly 212 km east-southeast of Severo-Kuril’sk and a depth of 10 km.
