Aug. 15: Earthquake of 5.1 magnitude reported near Ende, Indonesia

A 5.1 magnitude quake jolted close to Ende on Saturday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which struck the area at 00:40 UTC (08:40 local time), was centered about 71 km north-northwest of Ende. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.

Tremors last week

Last week, there have been four quakes of magnitude 5.5 or above centered nearby. The most significant was a 7.7 magnitude earthquake registered in the same region on Aug. 15.
