HAWAII COUNTY, HI — A 5.2 magnitude quake occurred near Naalehu on Wednesday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 3:48 a.m. (5:48 p.m. local time), a tremor hit the region at a depth of 7 miles, with its epicenter roughly 26 miles east-southeast of Naalehu. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.1 but later upgraded to 5.2.
