Update: 5.1 magnitude earthquake detected near Modisi, Indonesia on April 17

A 5.1 magnitude quake struck near Modisi on Friday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor hit the area at 23:21 UTC (07:21 local time). It occurred at a depth of 120 km with the epicenter roughly 84 km west-southwest of Modisi. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.3 event, but later downgraded it to 5.1.
