Published Mar 30, 2025

On Sunday at 3:32 a.m. an updated ice storm warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 8 p.m. The warning is for Southeastern St. Lawrence, Southern Franklin and Southwestern St. Lawrence.

“Significant icing. Additional ice accumulations up to two tenths of an inch possible,” can be anticipated according to the NWS. “Freezing rain this morning will gradually change to plain rain in the western foothills of the Adirondacks by this afternoon and linger longest closer to the St. Lawrence River.”

“Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice. Travel will be very difficult,” says the NWS. “Travel is strongly discouraged. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Prepare for possible power outages.”
