A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Meulaboh on Tuesday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which hit the area at 16:29 UTC (23:29 local time), was centered roughly 21 km southwest of Meulaboh. It occurred at a depth of 76 km.
