WEST SANTO, Sanma Province — A 5.3 magnitude quake shook near Vanuatu region on Friday night, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The USGS reported a tremor in the area at 11:12 UTC (23:12 local time). The epicenter was of Vanuatu region, at a depth of 24 km.
