ANTOFAGASTA PROVINCE, Antofagasta — A 5.2 magnitude quake occurred near Mejillones on Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 11:48 UTC (06:48 local time). The epicenter was about 167 km west-northwest of Mejillones, at a depth of 10 km.
