At 10 p.m. Wednesday, the National Hurricane Center issued an advisory stating that Tropical Storm Fay is in the Atlantic Ocean, 935 miles west-southwest of the Azores. The system, with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph, is moving to the west-southwest at 9 mph.

“Little change in strength is forecast during the next day or two, with gradual weakening expected thereafter,” analysts wrote.

Yesterday (Tuesday)

Fay strengthened into a tropical depression. It later devolved to a post-tropical cyclone with sustained winds of 40 mph.
