At 4 p.m. Wednesday, the National Hurricane Center published its initial advisory of the day on the system, stating that Tropical Depression Fay is in the Atlantic Ocean, 885 miles southwest of the Azores. The system is moving west at 8 mph, with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph.

Yesterday (Tuesday)

Fay became a tropical depression before it devolved to a post-tropical cyclone with sustained winds of 35 mph.
