ALEUTIANS WEST CENSUS AREA, AK — A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Nikolski on Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The tremor, which rattled the area at 8:22 p.m. (9:22 a.m. local time), was centered approximately 39 miles south-southwest of Nikolski. It occurred at a depth of 21 miles.
