PARINACOCHAS PROVINCE, Ayacucho — A 6.7 magnitude quake occurred close to Aniso around midday Thursday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor slammed at 18:00 UTC (13:00 local time), with its epicenter roughly 31 km northwest of Aniso and a depth of 99 km.
