On Sunday at 10 p.m. an updated winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid for Monday between 2 a.m. and 10 a.m. for Delaware and Sullivan counties.
“Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations up to one inch and ice accumulations around one tenth of an inch,” explains the NWS. “Higher terrain areas will be more vulnerable to both snow and ice, as well as exposed surfaces such as bridges and overpasses.”
“Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute,” adds the NWS. “Slow down and use caution while traveling. In New York, the latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1. In Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission remind motorist to adjust speeds based on driving conditions as winter weather impacts Pennsylvania roadways.”
