At 12:49 p.m. on Monday, the National Weather Service issued an updated heat advisory in effect until 7 p.m. for La Junta Vicinity/Otero County, Las Animas Vicinity/Bent County and Lamar Vicinity/Prowers County.
The NWS informs, “High temperatures are expected around 105F.”
