A 5.2 magnitude quake occurred near Severo-Kuril’sk at midday on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 00:13 UTC (11:13 local time). The epicenter was roughly 112 km southwest of Severo-Kuril’sk, at a depth of 81 km.
