A 5.1 magnitude quake occurred near Severo-Kuril’sk on Sunday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor shook the area at 00:13 UTC (10:13 local time). It occurred at a depth of 92 km with the epicenter approximately 122 km south-southwest of Severo-Kuril’sk. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.2 but later downgraded to 5.1.
