5.3 magnitude earthquake jolts near Abepura, Indonesia on July 24

SARMI REGENCY, Papua — A 5.3 magnitude quake occurred close to Abepura on Friday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 11:11 UTC (20:11 local time), a tremor shook the region at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter roughly 197 km west of Abepura.
