At 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, the National Weather Service issued an updated heat advisory in effect until Monday at midnight for Paradox Valley/Lower Dolores River and Four Corners/Upper Dolores River.
The NWS informs, “Dangerously hot conditions with afternoon temperatures as high as 97 to 102 degrees expected.”
“Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events,” says the NWS.
